The recovered database and four tools are online. Public pages use the static shell; remaining account workflows are temporarily isolated behind the legacy application.

Recovery and roadmap

The data is back. Simplicity is next.

The community database, media, accounts, and project records have been recovered. The public experience is returning to static HTML and CSS while remaining dynamic workflows are ported carefully.

Current availability

The recovered database and community records are available again. The public shell, toolkit, SVGnest, Background Remover, and File Library are served statically wherever possible.

Restored

Community Database

Materials, sources, settings, projects, 3,321 member records, and 535 media records were recovered and validated.

Available

Laser Toolkit

Six free calculators run directly in your browser, with clear units, input checks, and no sign-in required.

Available

SVGnest

Arrange closed SVG outlines on a material sheet using the MIT-licensed SVGnest engine, entirely in your browser.

Available

Background Remover

Preview PNG, JPEG, and WebP images locally, then send one to the same-origin processor only when you explicitly choose to.

Available

File Library

Browse the reviewed collection of manuals, specification sheets, project files, reference documents, software, and downloads through a static catalog.

Clear by design

Local tools stay in your browser. The one tool that needs server processing makes the upload boundary explicit before it sends anything.

Available today

  • Six free browser-based laser calculators
  • Local SVG nesting with an open-source engine
  • Explicit, same-origin background removal
  • Responsive pages and keyboard-friendly controls
  • Recovered public database and community references

Being simplified now

  • Server-rendered replacements for remaining account pages
  • Removal of temporary Next/React route dependencies
  • Additional helpers that benefit laser makers
  • More open, inspectable static utilities
  • Clear security boundaries for every dynamic action

What we’re building

Recovery restored the existing functionality first. The next phase removes unnecessary runtime complexity without sacrificing useful data or member workflows.

  1. Recovered now

    Database, tools, accounts, and media

The recovered records have passed source-to-target count validation, and the static tools remain available with their original data boundaries.

  2. In progress

    A static-first database experience

Public navigation and tools are static HTML/CSS. Only routes that still require recovered application behavior reach the quarantined legacy runtime.

  3. Coming next

    Server-rendered member workflows

Account, contribution, rig, and project management will move to small server-rendered handlers so the legacy frontend can be retired.

Straightforward data boundaries

Calculator values and SVG artwork stay local. Background-removal images are sent only after an explicit button press, and the site uses no visitor tracking.
